Beauty Trends to Watch Out For In 2018
If 2017 was the year of K-beauty, then 2018 is for J-beauty, J meaning Japanese. According to British Vogue, Japan will reassert its presence as Asia’s beauty authority.
According to British Vogue, the concepts of “simplicity, understated beauty and energized calm will come to the fore.”
This is not to say that it’s over for K-beauty. It’s just that in terms of beauty, Korea would have to share the limelight.
J-beauty translates to clear, blemish-free skin, flushed cheeks and rosy and glossy lips. Go for liquid blush instead of powder and top your favorite lipstick with lip gloss to achieve this look.
Products will be multi-tasking. For instance, your cleanser could have moisturizing properties. Who has time for 10 steps anyway? For instance, Eve Lom Cleanser cleans, exfoliates and moisturizes, among other things.
From the Spring-Summer 2018 runway shows, we saw that ponytails are back. This time, however, they are extra. Think braids on both sides that cascade into a tight ponytail or one that’s the product of layering.
#TeamKulot will rejoice because it’s the season for loose and soft curls. It’s the time to embrace those curls and enhance them with volumizing and moisturizing products.
Even foundations are seen to follow Fenty Beauty’s lead of natural-looking, long-lasting and all-inclusive in terms of color.
