What Happened to Those Billy-Coleen Photos and Why are Netizens So Mad About It?
Just recently, photos of engaged celebrity couple Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia in high fashion poses spread on the Internet.
At first, everyone thought the photos were from the couple’s prenuptial shoot. Until they saw this (among several other photos).
Then everybody started tweeting about it. Some of the tweets and Facebook posts were positive. But most of them were not.

A THREAD ON WHY WE SHOULD CALL OUT THE ETHIOPIA PRENUP SHOOT OF BILLY AND COLEEN
Then someone posted this on Facebook.
So what exactly is the issue and what is Other-ing?
Other-ing or Otherness is apparently an old concept that can best be understood by the phrase, “you’re not one of us.” Otherness is the quality that someone or something has which is different from yourself or from the things that you have experienced.
People objected to the Coleen and Billy shoot, which wasn’t a prenup after all, because they said it showed the difference between them and the Ethiopian people.
"We based our layouts off of some of their suggestions. The locals were so kind, warm, and welcoming and they love meeting tourists," he said.
“We never forced anyone nor wanted to disrespect any race or culture. People in the Philippines feel disrespected and offended but being there was a completely different feeling,” Billy added.
There have already been several versions of why this photoshoot happened. Whatever the reason may be, we guess it's safe to say that we have to always keep in mind that people nowadays have easy access to the internet and anything can happen. Always be mindful with what we put online.
