Spice Up Your Office Desk with These Fun and Easy Elements
We may not admit it, but pretty much of our waking hours are spent at work. At least forty hours of our every week are dedicated to our jobs.
So who's to say we don't deserve to be cozy in our own office space? Honestly, work will feel so much bearable when we're on a homey, comfy environment.
Here are some ways to upsize that boring desk we get to use every freakin' day.
Invest in a cute calendar.
Project deadlines will always be haunting us, and let's accept that there's just no way we can get rid of them. To make the pressure our friend, find a preppy — or inspiring — calendar that will bring us positive vibes.
This way, whenever we look at our available (or hectic) schedules, we're also motivated to work well. Not to mention, ticking off certain days in the calendar can be fulfilling!
Add some greenery.
Somehow, tending to succulents and cacti has become a trend. And for good reason. Bringing the outdoors in, no matter how small and simple, instantly boosts our mood.
There have been studies about the calming effect of being around nature, too. Plus, plants are so naturally Instagrammable!
Choose cute pins and magnets.
Marathon meetings, piles and piles of documents, unending lists of to-dos — We all need reminding of these activities, especially on busy days, so we rely on sticky notes or just pin stationery around our cubicle.
Replace the old, bland magnets and push pins with artsy ones. There are now tons of designs to choose from in craft and book stores!
Use a mug that uplifts you.
Sure, we can sometimes get so focused in our work that we forget to hydrate. But it is important to drink at least two liters of water daily!
A trick is to find a mug (or a tumbler, if that's what you prefer) that you will love to look at and to use. Perhaps, one that has an image of a cat if you're a cat-lover, or one that has a hugot line you can relate to on it. Your mug can be a conversation piece, too! Good for small talk.
Find a pillow to make things more comfy.
Sitting on our office chairs and looking at our computer screens for long hours can mean sacrificing good posture. There's a reason why we sometimes go home with pain on our shoulders or the lower back.
It helps to find a good pillow we can put on our backs that can help making sitting almost the entire day so chill.
Of course, these pieces are optional, but they definitely are like a pat on the back when work gets so tough, prodding you to push through amid the challenges. Sometimes, it's the little things that matter.
