The Inspiring Story Behind Hidden Figures
Throughout the course of time all over the world, several inspiring individuals have continuously been fighting for equality and recognition of groundbreaking endeavors made by women.
Nowadays, we see empowered women taking over business industries, playing with the big dogs on the top. Nothing is more refreshing than seeing a successful woman who paved her own way towards achieving her most outrageous goals.
Here in Upsize, we're suckers for these sorts of stories which is why we're sharing with you one of our favorite estrogen-fueled movies of all time (almost at par with The Devil Wears Prada) - Hidden Figures.
Based on the untold story about the women you don't know behind the missions that you do, Hidden Figures is a 2016 Theodore Melfi film that narrates how a team of African-American women spearheaded and provided NASA with essential mathematical data required to launch the program's first successful space missions.
It tells the story of Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer), and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe) breaking all sorts of stereotypes and literally and figuratively bringing a massive change to the world as we know it.
These three women have co-written history all while being at the background supporting the men who took charge of these missions. Missions, that without these strong-willed women, would not have been possible.
