OWTO is the new ride hailing app we should all download and here's why.

Missing the times when Uber was available and the dawn of promo codes from both Grab and Uber were coming in almost every day?. Those were the days wherein we didn’t have to suffer outrageous booking prices and we actually had options to choose from, unlike today.

Fortunately, there have been many developments in the tech industry to create a competitor with much more competitive pricing that will rival Grab here in the Philippines. And gaining much attention recently is the new ride hailing app called “OWTO”

OWTO is a TNC by Ipara Technologies and Solutions Incorporated, founder by former Grab and Uber drivers who wanted to make a more cost friendly ride hailing app that will be profitable to the drivers. It’s 100% Filipino owned that guarantees to be more sensitive to the needs of fellow Filipinos- as they say that only a Filipino can understand a Filipino.

To achieve this goal OWTO’s chief operating officer, Paulo Libertad says that they charge the smallest commission of 15% compared to other companies which charge the average commission that is at 20% of the driver’s earning that doesn’t include the incentives.

OWTO recently launched on May 18, much like Grab and Uber, their transport services extend to Metro Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, and Rizal, they also have the cheaper yet convenient option of the pooling service.

They charge a cancellation fee of P50 if the ride was canceled 3 minutes after the booking was made. Under its approved fares, they charge a base fare of P40 with P12 additional per kilometer and P2 per minute travel. Like its competitors, they have a surge cap that depends on the distance traveled and the duration of the ride.
