For FW2022, Uniqlo Is Taking On The Classics, Launching New Collections

The theme for Uniqlo’s new Fall/Winter 2022 season is making modern improvements on our beloved staple pieces.

The collection is grouped into four categories — Outerwear, Knitwear, Bottoms and Sport Utility Wear. The Outerwear collection has been expanded to include a wide range of styles from lighter shirt jackets to wool coats that can be worn on different occasions. The collection includes a short-length puffy jacket that’s designed using a glossy and reflective material. This will be available in black, grey, beige, and off-white.

For Knitwear, the focus is on diversity in colors as well as the use of the latest technology while making the clothes. For instance, some of the sweaters are 3D knitted using Shima Seiki’s WHOLEGARMENT technology

The wide-leg trend has been adopted for Uniqlo’s Bottoms so we’re seeing baggy jeans and flared trousers.

The Sports Utility Wear category includes SKUs like the DRY Sweat Cropped Full-Zip Hoodie, which carries the technology that wicks moisture away quickly from the skin. The sweat pants combine form and function with a cotton like feel and a more refined silhouette.

Uniqlo U’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection, designed by the brand’s artistic director Christophe Lemaire, is inspired by the theme “Essentials with a point of view.” Thus, the collection, not surprisingly, are composed of minimalist pieces. The idea for Uniqlo U came from the concept of a person having a capsule wardrobe that would fit into a suitcase.

The 2022 collection has a neutral color palette merged with transitional layers, basics and knits with boxy and oversized as the key silhouettes, The women’s collection is focused on comfort and versatility so we’ll see soft wool knits with menswear-style shirts and high-waisted jeans.
