UP Town Center’s ‘Homecoming’ Campaign Is Literally A High School Reunion

In case you didn’t know,the place where UP Town Center now stands used to be the UP Integrated School.

In 2013, UP Integrated School transferred to the University of the Philippines Diliman Main Campus, replacing the old Narra Residence Hall

As part of its ‘Homecoming’ campaign, U.P. Town Center partnered with ALAB UPIS – the UP Integrated School Batch ‘97 Alumni Group – and launched a momentous project earlier this year called “Gunita.” In English, it means “memory” or “remembrance.”For this group, it’s an ode to stories of youth, coming of age and friendships that have stood the test of time.

UP Town Center is more than just a mall. The “Homecoming” campaign aims to educate Townies about former UPIS landmarks that are now their favorite UPTC spots.

Scattered around the mall are 12 standees that mark the different UPIS areas. Each has its own QR code that leads to a page filled with photos of how it used to look, along with write-ups and stories from former students.

After 25 years, ALAB UPIS Batch ‘97 Alumni had a reunion at UP Town Center. Together, they walked down memory lane, recalled stories, and remembered all the

“Gunita is not just about paying homage to the school.where we grew up in, but it’s also a way to share its beautiful history as well as our stories with the new generation. The landmarks, the IG filters, it really brings back memories in a different way,” said Joy Cruz, UPIS ‘97 alumni.

UPIS may have found a new home, but the memories created in the old school campus will live forever in the hearts and minds of both UPIS alumni and UPTC Townies.
