The Best Lip Balms For Dry Lips

There are so many lip balms in the market right now. Here is a list of the most popular and some of the best lip balms, including one that costs about Php4,400! We've included a lip oil, a lip treatment and colored balms that also moisturize the lips.

Tromborg Lip Cure

This is more of a lip treatment than a lip balm. Tromborg is a brand from Denmark and Lip Cure is probably their most popular product globally. It has been called "the perfect moisturizer for dry lips." The white product goes on like an ointment and is quite thick. It's best for application at night so you'll wake up to moisturized lips. The ingredients include aloe vera, macadamia nut, Shea butter and Vitamin E. Each small jar is about Php900+.

Colourette Colourbalm

Colourbalm is a tinted lip balm that comes in four shades and gives the lips a soft and juicy look. It also leaves them smooth and well prepped for lipstick. You can cop the full set of four colors at Php999 on Lazada as part of their 7.7 sale.

La Mer The Lip Balm

This emollient lip balm is mint-scented and contains the brand's patented "The Magic Broth," along with other nourishing ingredients. Priced at around Php4,400 on Lazada, consider this an investment on your lips. We love the texture of this lip balm because it's not shiny and it is the best base for a matte lip.

Mentholatum Medicated Lip Gel

This lip gel contains Vitamin E, lanolin and menthol and it once saved our lips from the very cold weather in China. It costs Php108 on Lazada.

Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm

The brand describes Lippe Balm as a moisturizing, volumizing lip balm that helps nourish super-delicate lips." We like it because of the matte but moisturizing finish. This lip balm, which contains peptides and sea algae, is also fragrance-free. It's quite expensive at Php1,065 (sephora.com) considering the little product you get but it really does what it says it does.

NARS Oil-Infused Lip Tint

This is one of the most moisturizing lip oils we have tried. It also delivers a sheer wash of color (it won't be apparent if you have pigmented lips though). We're not sure if this is limited edition but there are only three shades available in the Philippines right now — Orgasm, Laguna and Reef. This costs Php1,500 each.
