UPSIZE PH | A Setting Spray That Does More Than Just Set Makeup

If there is one product that Benefit is known for is, it is The POREfessional Primer.

Thus, it was not impossible for Benefit to finally come out with a setting spray. Staying true to the brand's DNA of providing instant solutions to beauty dilemmas, what was created is a product that's very different from setting sprays in the market.

Until a few years ago, setting sprays were used mainly by stage performers or only for special occasions like weddings where people needed to lock their makeup. Today, setting sprays aren’t just for beauty insiders and special occasions, they have turned into an everyday makeup item. Everybody uses some form of mist to set their makeup.

Through consumer research, Benefit learned that beauty consumers were struggling with makeup that fades and smudges throughout the day. They also learned that 59% of consumers' main skin concern was their pores (Source: Survey of 500 prestige beauty customers in China, aged 18-45, Sep 2019)

Among consumers who use makeup setting spray, Benefit realized they were not satisfied with their current makeup setting spray because these are messy, drippy, too wet and cold and overall, sometimes just mess up freshly applied makeup.

Thanks to a special pore-blurring formula, the newly-launched The POREfessional: Super Setter not only locks on makeup for 16 hours but also blurs the look of pores.

The pore-blurring formula contains two special ingredients: A polymer film former that’s dissolved in water to create a weightless, invisible, uniform film that acts as a “shield." It helps lock on makeup and protect makeup from fading or smudging.

Another secret ingredient is a pore-blurring powder! It’s Benefit’s secret weapon that is also used in The POREfessional primers that help blur pores. This powder is made of light-scattering particles that helps minimize visible shine, blur imperfections and ultimately minimizes the look of pores.

The formula also contains a lightweight emollient (Butylene Glycol) that is commonly used in makeup and skincare products for a hydrating and refreshing feel.

The POREfessional: Super Setter creates a smooth, evenly dispersed, featherlight cloud due to Benefit’s specially designed ultra-fine micro-mister.

To make sure the formula doesn’t come out thick, heavy, tacky, wet or uneven, but instead in a gentle, evenly distributed featherlight film, the product went through at least 100 iterations before Benefit choose its final micro-mister.

The final mister features tiny holes with a specific shape, size, placement and pattern that were designed to create the smooth, evenly dispersed, ultrafine mist.

If you are not a heavy makeup user, wear it alone without makeup to soften the appearance of pores and help skin feel refreshed.

Spray all over your face at the end of your makeup routine to lock your makeup for 16 hours.

If you are a setting powder user, spray on over your setting powder. It will give a natural-looking finish and help perfect your makeup and blur pores.
