The 6 World Marathons You Should Definitely Run At Least Once in Your Life
The largest and most prestigious marathons in the world comes in a series called Abbot World Marathon Majors. If you love to travel and stay fit (or just run for the fun of it) at the same time, then you'd surely love to try one of these!
You might think these are so impossible to get to but hey, our fave gal Anne Curtis-Smith ran the London Marathon just recently and it looked (tiring) awesome!
1. Tokyo Marathon
The marathon happens every 4th Sunday of February. The 2019 race will be on February 24. Online Applications start from August 1 to 31 and announcements of selected applicants through lottery happens mid September.

2. London Marathon
This marathon is annually supported by Virgin Money and happens every 4th week Sunday of April. The race in 2019 will be on April 28. Online applications happen every first week of May for one week only. Selections through lottery during the first week of August.

3. Berlin Marathon
This years marathon will happen on September 16 or every 3rd Sunday of September. The selected runners applied though online from October 18 to November 8, 2017. Notification of selected runners happens every first week of December.

4. Chicago Marathon
Otherwise known as Bank of America Chicago Marathon will happen on October 7 or Ist Sunday of October. Lottery applications online normally until November 30 and notification of selected runners after two weeks.

5. TCS New York Marathon
The New York Marathon is most popular and highest number of runners among the 6 Majors. This years marathon will happen on November 4. Lottery applications accepted between January 15 - February 15 and announcement of selected runners on the last day of February.

6. Boston Marathon
Unlike the first 5 majors, Boston Marathon is considered to be the most prestigious because athletes must meet the standards which correspond to the age and gender. No lottery registration. The marathon is held on April 15, Patriot Day of Commonwealth.
