10 Perfect Women Movie Characters Who Deserve to Look Good and Feel Great

10 Perfect Women Movie Characters Who Deserve to Look Good and Feel Great

The perfect woman for us are those who are authentically real and embracing of their flaws. Those who have stood against the currents of time and slaps of life yet we see them oozing with empowerment and confidence. Those who, despite sometimes feeling indifferent and down, are still willing to push and fight to thrive and help others up along the way.

There is nothing we love more than watching strong women characters who are uplifting and inspired by the real women of the world. Just on the top of our heads, we can't even shorten our list of women characters we truly admire so for this list, we're highlighting the perfect women in all of our lives - our mothers who have gone through nearly all the challenges of life but remains radiant and there for us.

Here are 10 of our most favorite moms from the big screen - in no particular order:

1. Molly Weasley (played by Julie Walters)

This list about moms wouldn't be complete without one of the greatest mothers that ever lived and immortalized on film. We're sure that everyone, not just Potterheads, could recall how Molly fought in the battle at Hogwarts for the lives of her own children and the students.

Molly is a housewife, perfectly depicting those that most nearly all of us have, who pushes her kids to achieve and helps her family survive and live a normal life. She made sure that all her children are well-fed and get quality education by putting them at Hogwarts despite having little to none.

2. Aibileen Clark (played by Viola Davis)

We sure hope you're familiar with the movie, 'The Help'. Basically, it tells the story of racial discrimination where a white Southern society girl (Skeeter, played by Emma Stone) returns to her hometown and decides to interview the househelp - who are all black women - on their current situations and write about it. It's a heart-wrenching movie you should definitely watch.

Aibileen Clark is the first one who, when Skeeter voiced out her plan of writing a book, courageously said yes. She did what she had to do in spite of the consequences to help not just her family but others as well. You can only imagine how tough it is to watch her take care of the kids of families who treat her so bad when she does not even have enough time to do so with her own children.

3. Maria von Trapp (played by Julie Andrews)

How do you solve a problem like Maria? You let her grow. Maria von Trapp did not necessarily bear children of her own but instead brought back music and life to the household, took the von Trapp children under her wing and treated them like their own.

Giphy

There are no degrees or schools that will teach a woman how to be a good mother but Maria learned on her own by expressing her real self and sharing love to the von Trapp family.

4. Tess Coleman (played by Jaime Lee Curtis)

Can you handle the chances if you switched bodies and lives with your mom? Personally, I probably can't but Tess and Anna Coleman (played by Lindsay Lohan) can for sure. Tess was the typical strict mom with a rebellious teen daughter and a pre-pubescent son who is trying to set her kids straight. In a weird moment, she switched bodies with her daughter.

Giphy

Tess for sure showed moms on how to handle daughters who are going through adolescence. She took her time to be open and understand the things her daughter is passionate about and in the end realized how much her daughter actually loves her and her brother.

5. Mrs. George (played by Amy Poehler)

She's not a regular mom. She's a cool mom and for good reason.  Regina (played by Rachel McAdams) might have grown to be a spoiled brat but she is nothing less than openminded and she's an achiever on her own right. Just like Tess Coleman, Mrs. George has mastered the art of handling adolescent daughters. Uber conservative moms would probably freak out on the scene where Mrs. George catches Regina making out with her boyfriend but the cool mom that she is, Mrs. George offers them a condom instead of having a crazy moment.

Giphy

Mrs. George is also very welcoming of Regina's friends, preferring that they just hang out at home and if they want to drink alcohol, they better do it at the George's where there's adult supervision. She was also very supportive of the girls joining the Winter Talent Show.

6. Helen Parr aka Elastigirl (voiced by Holly Hunter)

It's probably tough enough to handle your kids but it's definitely tougher if your kids - or rather, your family - have superpowers. Having a super family has been a crazy ride as we have seen in The Incredibles. Helen, as much as possible, wants her kids to live a normal life and develop their powers for the greater good.

Giphy

She had to balance being a strong mom, a loving wife, and a superhero. How can she not be on this list?

7. Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep)

She's probably not the usual you'd see on lists like these but Miranda Priestly needs to be honored as one of the greatest moms on the silver screen. People in the fashion world see Miranda as the Ice Queen or the Dragon Lady because of her stoic and strong presence. But behind it all, when Miranda's alone and stripped of all the glamorous facade, she is a simple, loving mother who only wants the best for her kids because she knows she could most often give it to them.

Giphy

Miranda has been a single mother to her growing twins, trying to manage their lives and hers despite having on-and-off relationships with several Mr. Priestlys. It was heartbreaking when she told Andy how she's only thinking of the girls. With everything she does, she was only thinking of her girls and that's really beautiful.

8. Tess (played by Cher)

Not exactly a mom-mom but a mom nonetheless, Tess took her place as the mother of the showgirls at her burlesque. She was having her own personal struggles but that didn't stop her from helping her girls grow.

Giphy

Tess portrays the moms who are getting tired of fighting life's battles but are still always there for her kids. Similar to our moms who had their time of embracing the world, Tess also once owned the limelight but as she grows older, she has opened doors for her girls to shine their own light and she's supporting them in their different journeys.

9. Queen Elinor (voiced by Emma Thompson)

The story of Brave is probably relatable to every mom-daughter relationship. Merida proved her courageousness in standing up for her principles and changing the course of the royal kingdom by becoming a queen without a king. Behind her though was Queen Elinor who has always been loving and supportive with their rightful heir to the throne. As mothers go, Queen Elinor was just being reasonable at first although she wasn't closely listening to who Merida is and is trying to become.

Giphy

Most describe her as, 'fiercely dedicated to the well-being of her family and her kingdom' as mothers are. Can you imagine being able to run a whole kingdom and become a mother to a teen and triplets? In the end, Queen Elinor maintained her grace and embraced and showed her pride for Merida for the woman she has become.

10. Mrs. Gump (played by Sally Field)

As much as a mother is strong and gentle, she is also the main source of our inspirations. Mrs. Gump is the perfect woman that shows this. We are all touched as we watch Forrest grow and try to live a nearly normal life because he has never seen himself with any disability thanks to the very supportive Mrs. Gump who showers him with love and powerful quotes every single day.

Giphy

Mrs. Gump didn't restrict him in any way allowing him to spread his wings, learn to dream, and reach his goals. She didn't overprotect Forrest but instead let him set his course and figure life out on his own. Because of that, Forrest was able to become a college Football star, fight in Vietnam, and captain a shrimp boat. Thanks to the light his mother radiated toward him, he was always positive that life will give him the best.

Tumblr

All these women, though they be just in the movies, deserve to know how worthy they are of the world. They deserve to look good and feel great about themselves with all the energy and passion they share to everyone.

What makes your perfect woman? Who are your favorite movie moms? Tell us about them in the comments!
