Tried And Tested: Pili Ani Self-care Night Recovery Oil

If you have oily skin, you know how it is to be told that you shouldn’t moisturize because your skin will be even oilier. And heaven forbid that you apply face oils!

But if you haven’t tried using a facial oil at night yet, then you’re really missing out on a lot. Pili Ani Self-Care Night Recovery Oil, which was included in the November 2021 Allure Beauty Box, is an oil you need to try.

We got a 5ml bottle of the Pili Ani Self-Care Night Recovery Oil from The Beauty Edit Trunk and we’ve been using it since then.

A full size bottle of Pili Ani Self-Care Night Recovery Oil at 40ml costs Php3,200. We suspect this could last a year since we’ve hardly made a dent in the 5ml bottle. You only need a drop or two for your face and neck and behind the ears.

The Pili Ani Self-Care Night Recovery Oil is described as a “power packed oil for night time use to help repair and rejuvenate while you sleep. Provides additional hydration and helps prevent moisture loss at night when skin can become dehydrated.”

The ingredients, as per the website, are “Pili and Elemi oil, sampaguita, arnica montana flower extract, lavender, evening primrose and calendula.”

So here’s what we think of the Pili Ani Self-Care Night Recovery Oil:

Pros

It really makes a difference, even after one or two uses. You’ll wake up with soft and moisturized skin. For reference, we use the oil after an essence (Shiseido Eudermine) and a serum (Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair). We have been using the last two mentioned products for a while. Only the Pili Ani Self-Care Night Recovery Oil was newly introduced to our routine.

It doesn’t feel oily at all. In fact, we once mixed it with a tinted moisturizer for day and it wasn’t oily at all

It didn’t cause any irritation or breakouts

We’ve had a dry spot on our forehead for a year now and it disappeared after a week’s use of the product

Pili Ani is a Filipino brand

Cons

At Php3,200, it may not be affordable for some

It contains essential oils so avoid this if you have super sensitive skin
